After just ticking over 100 hours of build time, this trail has come together mostly the old-fashioned way — by hand — with our little Cormidi loader helping out by clearing pine needles and shifting dirt and tools around the hill. We’re stoked to share that another major stage of the Karaka Trail upgrade is now complete! Over the past few weeks, we’ve finished 1.1km of trail working back from the Karaka/Waiotahi intersection toward the Red Cliffs. The original goal was 1.4km, but with $40,000 raised (short of the $59,000 needed), we pushed ahead and upgraded as much as we could — leaving just 300m still to tackle in the future.
