TMBC are absolutely stoked to have been granted $20k from the Thames Community Board to go towards our Karaka dual use hiking and cycling track upgrade.
Thames Community Board has allocated Community Grant funding to a range of not-for-profit groups providing recreation, event and social service activities.
Some successful applications include:
Thames Mountain Biking Club - $20,000 to upgrade four kilometers of Karaka Track up to its junction with Waiotahi Track;
Thames Music and Drama - $4,225 for the hire of Thames War Memorial Civic Centre to mount their Mamma Mia production in May 2022;
Thames Business Association - $2,300 for traffic management for the Santa Dash and Santa Parade in December 2021;
Beach Hop Festival - $7,045 for traffic management for a day trip to Thames in March 2022.
The Board received applications totaling $196,895.69 to its $75,000 fund.
